Nathaniel Eschler, Composer
Hello and welcome!
I hope you will enjoy my music.
Since I last posted here a number of new performance opportunities have emerged with 4 very recent and successful performances of Canto in Salt Lake City, Iowa and Nebraska. Many thanks to Matthew Driscoll and Abbie Brewer of the Brass keys Duo. Hear the recording and read the performers review on my media page.
There is also some exciting news to report from Salty Cricket as my wife, Victoria Petro-Eschler, steps into the role of executive director. We are planning a September launch of a new El Sistema program entitled [email protected] Cricket. We have also added a fifth concert and Utah composer commission for the 2015 season and beyond at the Utah Arts Festival. A big shout out to Crystal Young-Otterstrom for being so generous with her time and resources.
On May 21st 2015 Leon Chodos, Dr. Ben Ordaz and Ted Merritt of the Utah Symphony will premiere And Surely you Jest......?. This work is for contra-bassoon, Tuba and String Bass. Join us at the Ladies Literary club at 7:30. Tickets can be purchased at SaltyCricket.org.
On September 10th I will have a work for Pierrot Ensemble performed. Also by Utah Symphony and Opera Musicians. Visit Salty Cricket.org for tickets.
I will also have an opera scene premiere. On Nov. 12th I will be directing Act 2 Scene 1 of James Joyce's Exiles. 12 minutes in length, this scene is an awkward encounter between old friends as they come turns with ones wooing of the other's wife. Join, Lucas goodrich(tenor) Kevin Smith Bass and Cristi Lynn Scrivner.
Also, I am excited and have accepted a commission by Dr. Matthew Driscoll, Trombone extraordinaire. The work is for Chamber Orchestra and will be in honor of my late mother, Claudia Eschler
